RSVP here Tension & Trauma Release Exercises (or TRE®)
Created by Dr. David Berceli, PhD, TRE are a simple series of physical exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma. TRE safely activates a natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension, calming down the nervous system. When this mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return back to a state of balance. You may have already experienced some involuntary shaking or trembling during the threat of the fires - please note this is not a symptom of PTSD - it is the body's natural and organic releasing mechanism overriding our mental capacity to not show our emotions.
Group Sessions offered: Time 75 mins
What to wear: loose comfortable clothing
What to bring: yoga mat, water
Participation: at whatever participation/level you choose
After a relatively short information session as to how trauma and tension patterns live in the body and nervous system, Karen will lead a class to reawaken the body’s organic capacity to discharge stored adrenalised energy. All mammals, including humans have this unique and natural capacity to evolve through traumatic events.
If you have any questions about the sessions please call Karen on 0405 597 461
Regulating the Nervous System
If we have not learnt in our early years how to balance and harmonise the nervous system we will begin to create a toxic stress overload.
In turn this will impact our internal systems relating to:
digestion
immunity
heart rate
blood pressure (and all the diseases and health challenges that relate to these body systems)
Symptoms would include:
loss of libido
insomnia
digestive issues
more colds and viruses (more them and taking longer to heal)
desire to isolate from connections and social occasions
over reactions to every day happenings
more startle responses
more fights with loved ones and strangers
anxiety and depression.
Benefits: With a TRE practice you may find yourself with
Less Worry & Anxiety
Reduced Symptoms of PTSD
More Energy & Endurance
Improved Relationships
Less Workplace Stress
Better Sleep
Less Relationship Conflict
Reduced Muscle & Back Pain
Increased Flexibility
Greater Emotional Resiliency
Decreased Symptoms of Vicarious Trauma
Healing of Old Injuries
Lessened Anxiety surrounding Serious Illness
Relief from Chronic Medical Conditions
